Finding Your Seat Idea

You will begin to see a little shift in my blog since I will no longer be teaching Science. My principal moved me to Math for this upcoming school year and I'm really excited. I'm sad to leave Science but excited for the new opportunities of teaching a different subject.
So for my first Math post, I thought I'd share a freebie that I found on Teachers Pay Teachers.  It is a fun math activity that helps students find their seat. Just click on the link below to access it.

Enjoy and I hope everyone has a great school year!!

Super Science BINGO Bundle

My students (like most) LOVE playing games! I've found it is such a great way to teach and at the same time let them have a little fun. I've been slowly creating these BINGO cards for them to learn all their science vocabulary.

I've been using them for a while in class and I have definitely seen a HUGE difference in the level of information they are retaining. They are remembering their vocabulary and really starting to make connections because of the pictures on the cards.
I've created 6 different BINGO games and each game has either 10 or 12 different cards so hopefully have enough for a class set if they work in pairs. There are also small cards with the vocabulary word and definition. I call out the definition and they have to find the word on their card.

You can purchase the entire set for $12 on my TeachersPayTeachers site or purchase each set separately for $2.50.

Click on each picture below to be redirected to my TPT store. Once there, you may download a free preview to see the game.

Independent and Dependent Variables Activity Cards

We had our post test last week at school and the one area that my students struggled with the most was variables. They know the definitions of independent, dependent, and constant variables but they cannot identify them in a science experiment. So during my Spring Break, I've come up with some activity cards which will hopefully help me reteach this concept next week.
There are 24 activity cards available on my TeacherPayTeacher's site for $3.00. Click below for a little peek! Click here to purchase this great resource.

Water Properties Lesson and Lab

So I have to be the WORST teacher blogger ever. I am so exhausted when I get home (and busy chasing a 21 month old) that I have no motivation to do anything school related. But I promise that I will be updating this blog more frequently. I have been busy this year working on some new lessons, labs, and activities and will post several soon.

For now, I wanted to post a teaser lesson/lab for water properties that is available on my TeachersPayTeachers page. Here's what's included for only $6.00!
1.  a 20 slide PowerPoint lesson along with a handout so students can take notes
2. a lab with student worksheets where students rotate to 4 different stations to see surface tension, capillary action, high specific heat, and water as a universal solvent in action
3. a water properties homework sheet
4. water properties quiz

Just click on this link to see the teaser. If you like what you see, click here to purchase it.

Enjoy and please let me know if you have any questions!
